UK Summer

So a heatwave hit the UK. It was 36 degrees in London and over 30 where I live. The picture above is from the first ‘official day’ of summer in the UK (because what preceded could not be called summer). It may be late, but at least it happens. And when it’s over we can reminisce.

Fun fact: after living in the UK for so long, it turned out I did not have a top appropriate for the weather. I had lived in a country where the summer is hot. Heat means heat – with regular temperatures of 30-35 degrees and heatwaves which bring the 40s sometimes. So it came as a shock to me to realise I barely owned any sleeveless tops. Different standards, I suppose.

The photograph itself was shot using the camera’s built-in filter for enhancing colours.
